    While part of the Miller School of Entrepreneurship, I got to found E.P.I.C - Empowering Pioneers through Innovative Culture before transitioning to a CEO chapter. I also got the privilege to participate in multiple pitch competitions, on campus, national, and international, including:

    Ledonia Wright Cultural Center

    Education

    Co-lead the Youth Entrepreneurship Cohort at LWCC: a successful mentorship program/youth entrepreneurship curriculum where student entrepreneurs served as mentors to underserved students from Title I schools.

    We met with these students twice a week to teach them a simplified entrepreneurship curriculum.

    Social Services

    Volunteering at the Pitt County Teen Court not only made me appreciate the judicial system set in our country, but also increased my appreciation for the law enforcers that work in the background. This great service thought me leadership, collaboration and teamwork, initiative, recognition and respect for rules and guidelines, respect for authority, and more.

  • Cluster Duck - Connect/Discover/Recover (Presently Project Owl)

    - Present

    Cluster Duck is a novel solution to address failure to the communication infrastructure during a natural disaster. Ducks are buoys with embedded wifi technology placed in strategic areas, to provide communication assistance during power and communication blackouts.

    Progress:
    - Placed 1st at Innovate ECU's make-a-thon challenge and received funding to work on beta prototype among 40 competitors.

    - Made into the final round of ECU's Pirate Challenge from a pool of 60…

    - Won 1st with teammates formed during the inaugural Call for Code competition - Project Owl.

    Watts Inside - addresses Energy Literacy in both 1st World and 3rd World countries simultaneously, by providing both target markets with an affordable kit to build fun, electrified DIY projects.

    Was selected from 100,000 applicants to attend and compete at the Hult Prize Regionals 2018 in Boston.

    At the first iteration of SPARK, our team organized a first of its kind 15hr Hackathon to help aspiring entrepreneurs and changemakers to turn their ideas into reality. The theme for Spark for for the participants to make a positive impact in our campus and neighboring communities.

    Students from interdisciplinary backgrounds came to our maker-space, to form teams with other participants, and to rapid prototype a product demo for judging at the end of the day.

    Founded and directed PitchDark, a series with the goal to energize entrepreneurial thinking at ECU! The series will consist of different themes surrounding entrepreneurship including scalability, impact, innovation, and more. Amazing ideas are out there - scribbled on a napkins, typed up in a notes app, or incubating in a brain. This series gives these creators an opportunity to pitch their idea to a panel of distinguished angel investors, startup founders, and influential media.
